Originally from New England, educated in Philadelphia, and currently a Pittsburgh divorce and family law attorney, Daniel “Dan” Hargreaves is passionate about advocating for his clients as they navigate the demise of a marriage or overcome the challenges of co-parenting with a former partner. Highly skilled as a litigator for over twenty years, Dan seeks to achieve the best reasonable outcome for his clients while calmly guiding them through the twists and turns of matrimonial advocacy.
During his tenure as the Managing Attorney Family Law Department at the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS), Dan experienced the full gambit of mothers and fathers facing extremely challenging situations, many resulting in the need for a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order of court. Dan has been routinely sought after to lecture other law firms on the best ways and methods to navigate sensitive PFA issues. At NLS, Dan mentored and guided numerous law interns and young attorneys and developed a robust training program for these aspiring attorneys. He has a particularly deep understanding of the Domestic Violence - Protection from Abuse (PFA) process and is frequently asked by major, non-family law firms across the region to provide guest lectures and lunchtime learning seminars on these topics
Dan is also on the board of several local Boards and Non-Profits, is an avid Marathon runner, and loves animals.
